Membership

Membership to the Bethesda Baptist Church is opened to anyone who:

  • Makes a positive confession of Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior.

We acknowledge that the Holy Spirit who reveals Christ to every believer does the work of regeneration or salvation. (I Corinthians. 12:3) We accept the fact that GOD moves in the lives of each of us in a unique and special way. Therefore, we do not judge the validity of anyone’s claim that they have had an encounter with GOD and from that encounter want to establish a relationship with GOD. (Romans 10:9-13)

  • Successfully completes a six week New Member Orientation.

These classes are offered on a rotating Saturday from 10:00am 2:00pm. Presently the Pastor teaches these classes. The curriculum for the six weeks is as follows: (1)

Salvation, Baptism and Communion (2) About the Bible (3) Evangelism, Missions and Benevolence  (4) Stewardship of Time, Talent and Treasure  (5) Church History and Baptist Doctrine (6) Bethesda History, Ministries and Structure.

(Romans 14:15, Deuteronomy 4.9)

  • Baptism by immersion from a recognized Protestant Church.

We practice water baptism as described in the Bible. The act of Baptism does not secure salvation rather it pronounces it to the world. We make allowances for persons who are not able to physically enter into the pool. We presently hold Baptism after individuals complete their New Member Orientation classes.  (Matthew 3:13, Mark 1:9, Luke 3.3)

All members are asked to sign a Fellowship Covenant Agreement.

This written agreement outlines the duties and responsibilities of each individual member. During our celebration of the Church’s Anniversary (month of October) we give everyone a chance to sign or renew his or her Covenant.
